This post is part two of an Identity series I started a couple of posts ago. I started with the lies I have believed about myself for years, lies we all let rest in our hearts. As I work on this Identity series, I will dive into a GOD-given Identity. One that is especially from Him: our true identity.
The poem below is part two…a small revelation of sorts, nothing necessarily new, but maybe you haven’t thought of it this way. I don’t know what your journey is, or where you are on that journey; but join me, and we will explore what GOD says about us.
True Beauty:
Look in the mirror,
Search deep inside;
Find the Beauty buried there.
As His Creation
You are more than what you appear.
Reject the lies,
The ugliness that rules your heart.
Open up to truth:
You are Loved;
You have been shown Grace;
You are Beautiful.
The sin and shame
Are gone now,
Covered by the blood of One so dear.
Allow the Truth
To wash you clean,
And reveal the Beauty underneath.
You are not perfect,
Nor will you be,
But you are perfectly His.
He formed you,
Loves you,
Blessed and Redeemed you
As His Beautiful,
Sought-after Bride.

Do you struggle with sloughing off the lies, the old identity, and taking on the new one? I would love to hear about it and pray for you!
